NEW-FLOW CPLS1000 Capacitive Level Switch

Product Description

A capacitive level switch provides point-level detection by sensing a change in capacitance between its probe and the process vessel or reference ground. When liquid, powder or granular material approaches or covers the probe, the change is detected and converted into a switching output for alarm, filling control, pump control or process interlocking.

Because capacitive sensing can detect both conductive and non-conductive materials, it is a versatile choice for many storage and process applications. With the correct probe, mounting arrangement and sensitivity setting, it can be used for high-level, low-level or overflow detection and may also detect material through the wall of a suitable non-metallic vessel.

Typical Applications

- Liquids, powders, pellets and granular bulk materials
- High- or low-level detection in tanks, silos, hoppers and bins
- Filling, emptying and pump-control systems
- Overfill prevention and dry-run protection
- Water treatment, chemical processing, food production and general industry

Key Benefits

- Suitable for a wide variety of conductive and non-conductive media
- No moving mechanical parts and minimal routine maintenance
- Adjustable sensitivity for different materials and installation conditions
- Compact point-level solution for alarm and automatic-control duties
- Correct probe material and construction can be selected to suit the process medium and operating environment
